چکیده
Momentum production during the phase slip process in SNS Joseph-son junction is discussed. It is caused by the spectral flow of bound states of fermions localized within the junction. This effectively reduces the Magnus force acting on vortices which provides an explanation for the experimental observation of the negligible Magnus force in 2D Josephson junction arrays. The flow of the fermionic levels is similar to that in sphalerons in particle physics, where it gives rise to the baryogenesis.

Spectral density of current fluctuations in a short ballistic superconducting quantum point contact is calculated for arbitrary bias voltages V. Contrary to a common opinion that the supercurrent flow in Josephson junctions is coherent process with no fluctuations, we find extremely large current noise that is caused by the supercurrent coherence. An unusual feature of the noise, besides its ma...

We study the stability of the 4-site plaquette order in a model recently introduced by Katoh and Imada to explain the spin gap observed in CaV4O9. We show that all relevant types of order (4-site plaquette, dimerized, Néel) can be described within the framework of Schwinger boson mean field theory, and we make predictions regarding their relative stability. The results are compared to exact dia...

Starting from the Schwinger unitary operator bases formalism constructed out of a finite dimensional state space, the well-known q-deformed commu-tation relation is shown to emerge in a natural way, when the deformation parameter is a root of unity.

It is shown that the low energy spectrum of mesoscopic superconductors coupled by Josephson interaction can be probed by two-electron tunneling from a normal electrode. The Andreev reflection in the NS junction of a normal-superconductor-superconductor double junction (NSS transistor) provides a unique spectroscopic tool to probe the coherent Cooper pair tunneling and the energy spectrum of the...
